Turn an original drawing into a repeatable print with Bertie® Carving Pads. This 4-piece assortment includes pads measuring 15 x 15 x 0.8cm, providing a generous surface for developing carved designs and exploring the process of relief printmaking.

Begin by planning or transferring a design onto the surface, then use compatible carving tools to carefully remove selected areas and develop the image. Once the design is complete, apply suitable printing ink or paint to the raised surface and press onto paper, card or another compatible material to reveal the finished print.

Experiment with bold shapes, detailed line work, patterns and textures, then repeat the same block across a surface or introduce different colours to investigate how a single carved design can produce a variety of results.

With 4 pads included, there’s room to develop multiple designs and explore the relationship between carving, positive and negative space, ink application and printed imagery.
